There is something about human nature that wants to be seen.
We want people to know we are making progress. We want them to see how far we have come. Sometimes we convince ourselves that if people can see our treasures, they will finally recognize how blessed we are.
But Scripture teaches a different kind of wisdom.
Before You Open the Treasury...
After God miraculously healed King Hezekiah and extended his life by fifteen years, envoys from Babylon came with gifts and warm greetings. It looked like an innocent visit. They had traveled a long distance. They meant well or so it seemed.Hezekiah welcomed them.
Then he made a costly mistake.
"Hezekiah received the Babylonian envoys and showed them everything in his treasure houses the silver, the gold, the spices, and the aromatic oils. He also took them to see his armory and showed them everything in his royal treasuries! There was nothing in his palace or kingdom that Hezekiah did not show them." Isaiah 39:2(NLT)
Everything.
He showed them everything.
Just because someone brings you gifts does not mean they deserve access to your treasures.
Not every relationship deserves unrestricted access.
Not every visitor deserves a tour of your treasury.
"Not every treasure God gives you is meant to be put on display."

What Are Your Treasures?
Hezekiah's treasures were tangible:
• Silver
• Gold
• Spices
• Aromatic oils
• His royal treasury
Then came something even more concerning.
His armory.
His weapons. His system of defense.
Who shows strangers the very things designed to protect them?
No nation reveals all of its intelligence to another nation. Military strategies are guarded for a reason.Yet many of us do exactly that.
We expose our lives on social media.
We reveal our deepest wounds before trust has been established.
We announce every plan before God has finished writing the story.
Some things should remain covered until God says otherwise.
What Are You Showing the World?
Before you post it...
Before you tell everyone...
Before you open another door...
Ask yourself:
Is this necessary?
Is what I am revealing honoring God?
Or am I simply seeking validation?
Some of us are displaying our armor instead of guarding it.
Our private battles.Our family matters.Our strategies.Our finances.
Our children.Our marriages.
Not everything belongs on display.
Show Them God Instead
There was a greater treasure Hezekiah could have shown.
The God who healed him.
The God who added fifteen years to his life.
The God who answered prayer.
The God who turned back time as a sign of His promise.
The God who has the final say over death.
The God who parts seas, defeats armies, and makes a way where there seems to be none.
Why are we so eager to display what God has given us instead of introducing people to the God who gave it?
Our greatest testimony is not our possessions.
It is our Savior.

Showing Off Does Not Add to Your Blessings
Sometimes we say,
"I'm not where I used to be."Who cares?
You may have just missed an opportunity to tell someone about Jesus.
You are already blessed.
You are alive.
You have received mercy.
You have experienced God's faithfulness.
Those are the proofs that matter.
You do not need anyone's validation to confirm God's blessings over your life.
Not Everyone Is Content With What They Have
Never assume people will be satisfied because they already have much.
King Ahab had an entire kingdom, yet he wanted Naboth's vineyard.
David had wives and concubines, yet he desired Bathsheba, the wife of one of his most loyal soldiers.
Enough has never satisfied an unguarded heart.
Showing off rarely produces righteousness.
More often it stirs jealousy, envy, comparison, anxiety and unnecessary attention.
Guard Your Treasure
Isaiah's words to Hezekiah were sobering.
"Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, 'Listen to this message from the LORD of Heaven's Armies: The time is coming when everything in your palace all the treasures stored up by your ancestors until now will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the LORD.'"
Isaiah 39:5–6 (NLT)
There are treasures God has entrusted to you.
Your peace.
Your family.
Your calling.
Your marriage.
Your children.
Your testimony.
Your spiritual authority.
Guard them well.
Your armor is your advantage.
Do not expose yourself unnecessarily
"Your greatest testimony is not what you own, it is the God who keeps you."

Prayer
Father, thank You for every treasure You have entrusted to me.
Thank You for the arsenal You have given me: the precious blood of Jesus, the powerful name of Jesus, and the abiding presence of Your Holy Spirit.
Teach me to be a wise keeper of the treasures You have graciously placed in my care. Give me discernment to know what to reveal and what to guard. Help me to project You more than my possessions, Your glory more than my achievements, and Your faithfulness more than my success.
I will not expose myself carelessly.
I will guard my home, my family, my calling, and my testimony.
May I never be the reason my children inherit unnecessary battles because of my lack of wisdom.
